Users of Apple mobile devices, iPhone and iPad, can now enjoy the floating screen mode (PiP, Picture in Picture) from YouTubewhich has just arrived on the iOS and iPadOS operating systems respectively.

PIP stands for Picture in Picture and allows you to have a floating screen displaying YouTube content on one side of the mobile device screen

This integration makes it easier to watch content from YouTube in a window that overlays the rest of the content displayed on the mobile device’s screen. A window that can also be scrolled enabling the use of other applications currently running on the iPhone or iPad.

Some iOS 15 users may already be able to experience the functionality of this feature, while others will have to wait several hours or days for its general availability to be updated.

Is about a feature this from the floating or pop-up screen that, in addition to using it on computers or through a Chrome browser extension, YouTube Premium users were able to enjoy it before, while for the rest of YouTube users in the free version, it was only available in the United States.

To check if this feature is already available, simply open the YouTube application from an iPhone or iPad, play a video, then open the main screen of the device or open another application. If the PIP is already activated video playback from YouTube is automatically limited to a small floating window.

Another way to check availability is to go to the YouTube application where via the route “Settings – General” a menu opens in which, if the option “Picture in Picture” already appears, the floating window can be activated .
